Promise makes perfect. I got some positive feedback on the second series I did for photography class, and I said that if that happened, I might share the series with you here.

It was a series of Holga shots, and I’m still quite proud of them. Now the teacher wants me to do more like them, and of course that raises the pressure immensely. Will I be able to make a bunch of pictures like this again and make them look effortless instead of cramped like some of the series I took to class the last few weeks?

Anyway, the theme of this gallery is the city, and patches of nature in the city that make cities such beautiful places.

Where I started coming regularly when I went to high school, and where I moved when I started college in Amsterdam. Practical? No. Nice? Yes.

Remember: For full screen click FS in the bottom right corner, and for titles and descriptions click the hardly visible letter i in the top right corner. (Full screen is obviously much prettier than small size and loading takes the same amount of time. Bloemenjansje says: that’s easy!)

garden in the city

Garden in the city

In May of last year I came back from a long trip through India, China, Mongolia and Russia. I haven’t been out of the country since. That means I have been on this same little patch of earth for more than a year. I’m surprised I haven’t grown roots and got stuck!

However, tomorrow I’m leaving again. But not for serious travels, just a holiday into France and probably Spain too. I had to do sooooo much before I could even think of leaving, but I managed to to get my second film processed too, shot full with fisheye pictures. And I cut W’s hair, got a car radio installed, gathered all types of utensils and accessoires that no camper can live without, and other stuff. The past days have seemed hours shorter than usual.

Anyway, here are some more pictures. I used the same film as last time, the Agfapro 200 (I bought 5 rolls at once, and nothing else up until today, when I bought some Kodak Ektachrome 400 slidefilm to give cross processing a shot. Damn those rolls are expensive!!), but I remembered that it really needs loads and loads of light. It worked! No failed frames, only keepers.

Where you goin'?
Graffiti with fisheyes!

I’m off now, you’ll have to wait for the rest of the roll til I get back. With loads and loads more pictures…
